What you will learn
By the end of the course, learners will be able to…
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Carry out a primary survey and manage incidents safely
- Assess and manage an unresponsive casualty
- Deliver CPR (adults) using manikins and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Provide first aid for a casualty who is choking
- Recognise and manage seizures, shock, and minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruises, burns, scalds)
- Control serious bleeding using bandages and dressings
- Record and report incidents in line with workplace requirements
