What you will learn

By the end of the course, learners will be able to…
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
  • Carry out a primary survey and manage incidents safely
  • Assess and manage an unresponsive casualty
  • Deliver CPR (adults) using manikins and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Provide first aid for a casualty who is choking
  • Recognise and manage seizures, shock, and minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruises, burns, scalds)
  • Control serious bleeding using bandages and dressings
  • Record and report incidents in line with workplace requirements
