					The Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) course is a 1-day training designed to give learners the essential skills needed to deal with emergencies involving babies and children.This course is ideal for those who require basic paediatric first aid training but do not need the full 2-day Paediatric qualification. It meets the requirements of Ofsted and EYFS for staff who are not counted as the “named first aider” but still need basic childcare first aid knowledge.

What you will learn
By the end of the course, learners will be able to…
- Understand the role of a paediatric first aider
 - Carry out a primary survey on infants and children
 - Deliver CPR on babies, children, and adults
 - Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely
 - Manage a casualty who is unconscious but breathing (recovery position)
 - Treat choking in infants and children
 - Provide first aid for bleeding and minor injuries
 - Recognise and manage (Seizures and febrile convulsions, Shock, Asthma and allergic reactions including anaphylaxis)
